HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

The actual tattooing only takes about 30 minutes per side. Before that, time is spent drawing on shape, size and placement, and custom mixing a color that works with your skin tone.

Unilateral total appointment time:  1 hour

Bilateral total appointment time:    1 hour and a half

I'M A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, HOW DO I WORK WITH YOU?

We work closely with plastic surgeons, oncologists, and support groups throughout the DFW area.  Please feel free to email us directly to arrange a meeting or phone call to get more information about areola tattooing.  Physicians can also refer patients in need directly to us via email or website.

DOES IT HURT?

Most clients feel no pain, only some pressure.  Because you have had several surgical incisions, a lot of the nerves have been severed or damaged.  If for some reason you do feel some pain, topical lidocaine is kept on hand to make it comfortable for you.

HOW DO I HEAL MY TATTOO?

Healing a tattoo is like healing a sunburn.  The skin may be tender for a couple of days, and then a slight crust will develop and peel away.  You will get a thorough explanation of all aftercare instructions before you leave so that you’ll know exactly what to do and expect.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

Not at all!  You can return to your regular day immediately after getting the tattoo.

HOW LONG AFTER SURGERY DO I HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE GETTING THE TATTOOING?

You should wait at least 9 weeks after your last surgery or until your plastic surgeon clears you for the procedure.  As a general rule, if you have any scars that still look red/purple and angry, you need to wait a bit longer.

DO YOU FIX OTHER PEOPLE’S WORK?

Yes, in most cases.  This would require a virtual or in person consultation first.

I’M TRANSITIONING- DO YOU DO MALE AREOLAs as well as female?

Yes, we do.  Everyone is welcome at the studio and will be treated with the utmost compassion and respect.

CAN YOU WORK ON OTHER TYPES OF cosmetic SCARRING, SUCH AS SURGICAL SCARS ON THE FACE OR BODY?

At this time our studio is only focusing on restorative areola tattooing after breast cancer and reconstruction.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Please use the email form to send us a message.  Please be sure to include a contact phone number and we will contact you as soon as possible.

DO I NEED A TOUCH UP?

One complimentary touchup is included within 6 months of your tattoo appointment to perfect any issues that may have occurred during healing.  We recommend waiting at least a month after the initial tattoo to let it settle into your skin before scheduling a touchup.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND OR LOVED ONE TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You may bring a friend or loved one to your appointment, but we do only allow the person getting the procedure into the procedure room. We have a small waiting area immediately outside the procedure room where they can wait.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?

We can take cash, check, or card as payment.  However, there is a 2.5% tax of the total amount on card transactions due to the card reader.

WILL INSURANCE PAY FOR THIS?

HSA/FSA card are accepted directly as payment for this procedure. Some insurances may reimburse you partially or fully for this procedure, although we cannot guarantee reimbursement. Payment is still at the time of service, but we can provide you with all the pertinent information you will need to file a claim with your insurer.
